The best hot sauces for pizza & pasta

As a big fan of Italian cuisine, we can say that we eat pizza and/or pasta every week. Despite the refined flavours, they are often dishes that are not too complicated in terms of ingredients and the Italians will agree with that. Few ingredients, but those ingredients must be of top quality and in perfect harmony with each other. What the Italian purists will certainly disagree with, is that in our opinion, both pizza and pasta are even better with a matching hot sauce. But what are those perfect pizza & pasta hot sauces?

Garlic

Garlic and Italian cuisine are inseparable and therefore it is obvious that hot sauces with a large garlic content do well on pizza & pasta. Fortunately, they are plentiful and so you have a lot to choose from, but our favorite in this area is the Dawson’s Cedar Smoked Garlic hot sauce. The garlic in this sauce is smoked over cedar wood and the rest of the ingredients also reveal that this sauce was made with pasta and pizza in mind. Delizioso!

Herbs

Some of the most commonly used herbs in Italian cooking are oregano, thyme, and basil, so it’s good to look into hot sauces with these herbs as ingredients. The all-rounder

We often see certain qualities/ingredients in most all-round hot sauces that simply work very well in combination with your favorite Italian dishes. The basis of these sauces is usually as follows: peppers for the heat, acidity through the vinegar, the savory of onions, garlic and herbs, for example, and a somewhat sweeter ingredient such as carrot or bell pepper.
