Do you like it smoky? Chipotle is the answer!

chipotle saus

Are you crazy about spicy sauces with a smoky flavor? Then chipotle sauces are probably high on your list of favorites. This flavor enhancer combines smokiness, heat, and a subtle sweetness that elevates your dishes to a higher level. At Heatsupply, we love everything with chipotle, from hot sauces to dried peppers and from spices to pasta sauces.

The origin and unique flavor of chipotle peppers

Chipotle peppers are smoked jalapeño peppers. The smoking process gives them their distinctive smoky flavor, beloved in Mexican cuisine. The process develops a flavor reminiscent of the sweetness found in chocolate, coffee, and tobacco. Yes, even tobacco is something we often recognize in Chipotle. Might sound gross, but when you smell chipotle, you’ll understand what we mean.

Chipotle peppers are used in many different ways. In our store, you’ll find chipotle peppers mainly in various hot sauces and as dried peppers. But Adobo sauce with chipotle peppers and a chipotle infused maple syrup are also part of our assortment.

And especially the latter is a real hit! The sweetness of the maple syrup and the smokiness of the chipotle pepper is an amazing combination. TV chef Perry de Man also discovered this when we took him on our trip to La Pimenterie in Canada. They produce this maple syrup and Perry fell in love with it instantly: ‘This is crack man’. And if he says so ;)..

Chipotle sauce: a flavor explosion in every drop

At Heatsupply, we have an extensive range of chipotle sauces. The assortment varies from sweet-spicy to ultra-hot variants.
The sweet-spicy chipotle sauces offer a perfect balance between sweetness and heat, ideal for those who like a mild kick. For lovers of intense smokiness, we have chipotle sauces that bring out the authentic flavor of smoked jalapeños well. Additionally, there are creamy chipotle sauces that add a soft texture to your dishes, perfect for dips and dressings. For the real daredevils, we have ultra-hot chipotle variants that challenge your taste buds.

What you now know by this point is that the common denominator of chipotle sauces is the smoky flavor. This makes a chipotle sauce the perfect BBQ or burger sauce. Combine it with anything from the grill and give the dish extra spice.

But not just everything from the grill, sandwiches, tacos, or even popcorn can occasionally use some chipotle sauce.

Dried chipotle peppers: versatile use in your kitchen

Dried chipotle peppers are a favorite among culinary adventurers. The peppers are processed into sauces, marinades, stews, or ground as powder.

If you want to process the dried chipotle peppers into a sauce or chipotle puree, soak them for 10-15 minutes in hot water until they’re soft. This soaking water is a real flavor bomb, so use it in your dish! Once they’re soft, remove the stem and seeds and put the peppers in a blender to make puree or sauce.

If you want to make flakes or powder from the peppers so you can use them as spices or dry rub for barbecue? Then you only need to grind the dried peppers. That’s it.

Our favorite applications of dried chipotle peppers:

  • Homemade chipotle mayonnaise
  • Smoky salsas and dips
  • Chipotle butter for grilled corn on the cob – A real recommendation!
  • Spice mixes for tacos and fajitas

Store dried chipotle peppers in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. They’ll stay good for months.

Chipotle should be found in your kitchen

Add chipotle sauce to your grilled piece of meat, make wraps with chipotle mayonnaise, marinate chicken in chipotle adobo, or add dried chipotle peppers to stews. Chipotle cannot be missing from your kitchen. Whether you have it in the form of dried peppers or as a sauce, if you love smokey, it makes virtually every dish better.
