Dried Chipotle Peppers (100 grams)
These dried Chipotle peppers (100 grams) are smoked ripe red Jalapeños. These ‘Meco’ style Chipotle has a greyish color, is quite stiff and is often described to look like cigar butts. They are left on the bush for longer, until they start to lose their moisture. After harvest they go through a long process of slow smoking, which gives them an intense and strong smoky with a slightly spicy, grassy fruitiness flavor. Use of dried peppers: You can grind them to flakes or powder to use them as a dry rub or seasoing. You can also use them to make a chili paste or sauce by rehydrating them in hot water for 10 to 15 minutes until they gotten soft. After removing the stem and seeds you can blend them to a paste or sauce.
Dried peppers have a very long shelf life. Store them in a dark and dry place.
