Heat 5/10
The heat creeps up on you but it doesn’t hit that hard. Wish there was that tongue-numbing effect from the szechuan peppercorns but no luck.
Texture
Creamy. Coats everything nicely.
Flavour 7.5/10
This one is really hard to judge. You can definitely taste the shiitake mushroom and a little bit of szechuan peppers (very savoury!). But the flavours are so shy, so subtle, that any other flavour in the food might distract you from the taste of the sauce. I’d find myself putting a dollop of sauce right on the bite I was about to take off a wrap to really taste the sauce. It could’ve been so much better if the sauce was a little bit bolder.

It’s a good sauce, works well on rice and asian dishes but also on grilled meats. It’s not that spicy so you can definitely eat this a lot. A bit lacking in taste, that’s all.
